Grilled Balsamic-Lime Sweet Potato Wedges

The perfect side: sweet potatoes are rich in fibre, vitamins, and have even been shown to improve eye health. All this and they are still one of the tastiest vegetables! Topped with the mouthwatering undertones of balsamic vinegar and lime - you won't be able to keep your hands off these babies!


  • 5 sweet potatoes (roughly 1.4kg)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons white or regular balsamic glaze


    1. Peel and cut each sweet potato lengthwise into 8 wedges; place in a large bowl. Toss with oil, salt and pepper.
    2. In batches, cook potatoes on a greased grill rack, covered, over medium heat 8-10 minutes or until tender, turning occasionally.
    3. In a large bowl, mix remaining ingredients; add potatoes and toss to coat.
